Massive oak, core leather string, soap treated

This chair was made in a capentrycourse in 2014. It is not entirely finished yet. I need to cut the leather string, but I will just make sure that the knot I've used to fasten it is strong enough. additionally I also expect that the leather will stretch a bit, so I will adjust the lenght in a couple of months time.

The chair is a study of traditional carpentry methods and explores the wooden joints. All the joins are traditionally made with mortise and tenon joints and bridle joints in the top rail. There is no metal, only two materials: oak and leather (glue and soap)
