Casting Workshop VI

We casted in bronze today. Unfortunately the outcome wasn't totally complete so we'll have to cast again this week. What went wrong was propably that we couldn't melt the bronze to a higher degree celcius than 1200 which is it's melting point, so as soon as it was moved away from the heat to pour in the molds it started to clot.

... Next day, after the plaster had burnt in the oven all night, all the burnable material was gone and only the void was left.

The pouring holes was made wider and all the dirt and remaining ashes was blown out of it.

Unfortunately the bronze wasn't warm enough so it began clotting as soon as it left the heater.

While waiting for the bronze to cool down the year's first butterfly came by to say hello.

As I had hoped for, the marking from the 3d-print had made an imprint on the cast. I like it this was because then it's visible where the mold comes from and the proces becomes more transperant.
